Moving towards the end of the CULTIVATE Buddy Bites video series, for this 4th interview we are going to hear the voices of Helen Starr-Keddle, representing Brighton & Hove Food Partnership, and Matteo Matteini, speaking for the Municipality of Milan.

Watching this interview makes it clear that both participants share mutual professional respect and admiration. Helen particularly expresses her appreciation for “all the work on the Milan Urban Food Policy Pact and the way it’s been implemented globally.” Meanwhile, Matteo highlights Helen’s impressive ability to “manage multiple roles, not only within the city but also in specific organizations and volunteer initiatives.”

In conclusion, both interviewees reflect on the inspiring and valuable journey that the buddy visits have been for the CULTIVATE Food Sharing Initiatives, sharing their key takeaways. These include the potential to establish a social supermarket in partnership with a housing provider, and the creation of a self-sustaining social activity, such as a junk food program that operates without public funding.
