Recently, Lisbon witnessed the occurrence of various initiatives, highlighting an increasing interest and entrepreneurship in transforming the food system, at both municipal and civil society levels. UpFarming is an NGO that builds healthy, sustainable, resilient cities through participatory urban farming. UpFarming combines the productive power of vertical farming with the therapeutic benefits of community gardens to make financially self-sustaining, community-governed city center farms.
