After successful editions in Barcelona and Milan, the third edition of the CULTIVATE Marketplaces & Policy Dialogues will take place in Utrecht, on 4-5 June 2026, bringing together policy-makers, researchers, food sharing initiatives and citizens to explore how food can strengthen communities, wellbeing and social connection.

The CULTIVATE Policy Dialogue, taking place on 4 June, will be hosted within the international setting of VIV Europe 2026, one of Europe’s leading agrifood events. Bringing together stakeholders from across Europe, the dialogue offers a unique opportunity to connect grassroots food initiatives with policy discussions and international networks.

The event will focus on the role of Food Sharing Initiatives (FSIs) in promoting wellbeing, social cohesion and healthier living environments. Inspired by growing evidence on the social benefits of shared meals and community food practices, participants will explore how food sharing initiatives contribute to social cohesion, help combat loneliness and support healthier communities.

The event will also include a live test of the Food Sharing Compass, an online social innovation support platform designed to help food sharing initiatives, policy-makers, food supply actors, researchers and citizens understand, strengthen and scale food sharing practices.

On 5 June, CULTIVATE will continue with the Marketplaces, an informal and interactive gathering bringing together local and international food sharing initiatives. Designed as a space for exchange, the event will feature workshops, talks, shared meals and opportunities to test CULTIVATE tools.

Participants will have the chance to build connections and explore new ways to strengthen sustainable food systems.

We look forward to meet you there!
